Frequent Questions

How much are sessions? I charge $135 per individual session (50 minutes) and $165 for couples sessions (75 minutes). Family sessions are determined on the need of the family.

Do you take insurance? I take Cigna and Aetna currently and will be taking Blue Cross Blue Shield starting at the end of December.

Do you offer sliding scale? Yes! If the out of cost price is too much, reach out and see if we can make it work for you!

Do you offer superbills? Yes!

Do you accept HSA? Yes! Easy peasy, lemon squeezy

What’s with the outdoor sessions? I see people either through telehealth, in my office near Trolley Square, or we can meet a local park or trailhead. For park and trailhead sessions I cannot accept insurance and those sessions are billed based on my out-of-pocket rate. These sessions are about being in the outdoors not about physical fitness!

What’s therapy with you like? Therapy is kind of wild, right? We pay someone with the assumption that we’re going to tell them some of our most private thoughts and then what? I believe first and foremost that in order for therapy to work, you have to like your therapist. As a therapist my clients describe me as transparent, non-judgmental, humorous, creative, engaging, and compassionate.

How many sessions will it take? That all depends on what we’re working with. Some people just need the support to build the courage to make a difficult choice (new job, new relationship, new sweater). And others are coming to me with years of difficult relationships, childhood trauma and self doubt. Most of my clients and I work together for 9 months or more. Therapy is rarely a “quick fix” path towards mental wellness.

How do I know if we'll be a good fit? Click the “contact me” button or reach out via my psychology today profile to arrange a free 15 minute call. I can try to answer any additional questions you might have and you can see for yourself if we’d be a good fit.

Do you offer any other services? Yes! I frequently offer clinical supervision to new clinicians. I also consult with people starting their own private practice and people who are starting small businesses or non-profits in the world of wilderness therapy, equity, and inclusion.
